YARN FAQ
Will I receive the yarn shown in the listing photo?
Not necessarily. Listing photos are representations of the colorway but every batch is different. Every effort is made to ensure consistency in my repeatable colors, but even yarn dyed in the same batch will have some expected variation. Please keep in mind that colorways may look different depending on the yarn base. I have done my very best to take listing photos that are true to life, however, colors will vary from monitor to monitor.
Can I request that my yarn be caked?
All yarn will arrive in skeins (unless otherwise noted in listing). I do not offer yarn caking services at this time. Yarn may be re-skeined to check for tangles and to ensure a perfect dye job.
How do I care for my finished object?
Even if skeins are listed as superwash, I recommend hand washing separately and laying flat to dry to better preserve the lifespan of your finished object.
Will my yarn bleed?
All fiber is carefully heat set and thoroughly soaked and rinsed prior to shipment, but due to the nature of the dyes used some bleeding (especially of darker, more saturated skeins - particularly reds, purple and black) may occur the first time your project is washed. If bleeding is of concern, consider pre-rinsing dark or heavily saturated yarn before using it in your project.
I see from your Instagram feed that you have cats! Will Nox Yarn trigger my allergies?
Although my yarn is dyed in a pet-free detached studio environment, my home is shared with two sassy long-haired cats. Despite my best efforts with a lint roller, your item may arrive with one or two kitty hairs hitching a ride. If you have severe cat allergies please use caution :)
I have a fragrance allergy. What products do you use to rinse your yarn?
Skeins dyed on my LUNA or SOL (sparkle sock!) bases may have a slight vinegar smell when they arrive on your doorstep - this helps keep the stellina sparkle nice and bright during the dyeing process! Additionally, I use unscented Eucalan or Soak Wash as a final rinse for all of my yarn.
